Obsolete or useless Ford Dealer

Went to my local (large) Ford Parts Dept yesterday looking for:

  1. Sierra Diff Drain/Fill Plug
  2. Sierra Diff Overflow pipe/'valve'
  3. Escort/Cortina hub grease caps

Found them all on the computer but then checked and said that the parts are no longer available. Does anyone know if this is the case? I've read posts in the past and spoken to people who say that they've bought them.

Any ideas where I can get them?

Ta

try www.burtonpower.co.uk or .com cant remember they have all sorts of things that ford dealers say you can no longer get.

all ford dealers are the same they dont like the hard work by the sounds of it

Don't know about the last two items, but just last year I bought a new Diff drain plug from a main ford dealer, no problem. Special order obviously but came within a week

Cheers

I don't know about those parts in particular but I had a similar problem when I was looking for a replacement brake cylinder - official Ford dealership said they couldn't get them, but then I popped down the road to Car Spares and they had dozens of them in stock!

I try to avoid official dealers wherever possible because they're usually unhelpful and overpriced

I bought grease caps just over a year ago, next day delivery. About £1 each IIRC.
