No way am I having a std airbox. Seeing as I am having Samco's etc it need to be done to "dress" it up a tad and to scare the odd
school girl!
anyone know where I can get one cheap? How do I go about the base plate?
thanks in advance. I dont want to spend more than £70 really just out of principal

Foam filters may look great but they are very loud,if your thinking of doing a few track days,a lot of tracks now clamping down on noise, and its going
to get a lot worst at most tracks,a lot of tracks now you have to pass static, and drive by,for this reason MK are now supplying extra quiet exhaust
silencers, and sealed inductions fitted with cold air feed remote cone filters, these are a good alternative if you can't or don't want to
fit the original airbox.

Yeah ours should both be 5PW codes. I dont think it matters on engine anyway just the amount of room you have under the bonnet. The one im fitting is
the 40mm one and its got the pipercross product number C5001. The pipercross writing looks pretty good in the flesh.

Paul,
Is that MK are supplying parts very like the Pipercross one, or just similar.
I have a PX600 back plate with a foam filter on it. I looked into the cost of the genuine Pipercross airbox as shown on the photo, and it was pretty
expensive. Are MK's cheaper / compatible?
Cheers

I think the back plate just needs holes made for the throttle bodies using a hole saw but i havent fitted mine yet so cant say any further than that
but im sure its an easy diy job.

Yes its the same by the looks of it,MK keep them as a stock item, just checked with them, they aint cheap though,£220,for the full set
up,housing,filter,feed hose,back plate.
So best to fit the original airbox if you can to keep the noise down

Cant see any problems with using one though sva,I had a itg foam filter on my 929rry blade and passed sva,so the enclosed housing filter should be no
problems at sva
