WTD : Sierra Donor Car for DVLA Registration

When i had my donor car, i stripped it of all the parts and then scrapped it without registering it in my name.

Seems by doing this i cant get an Age Related plate.

I know i can get a Q plate, but id like an Age related...

So, does anyone have a donor Sierra that they are about to scrap, that i can register in my name and SORN ?

Imo your not going to get an age related plate anyway with a 7 as you are not using the sierra' s chassis (shell) and so can't get enough points scored to retain that number. Your also going to have a lot of explaining to do when the police come round and not one of your running gears serial numbers even match those of the registered car. You'll get 10 years for sure

I did it with no problems at all. Police guys came round to do the inspection and never batted an eyelid!

Just find one, register it, then scrap it.

Even with a BEC there are enough points to be had for an age related plate. IIRC rear and front hubs, diff, brakes all count.

Non of the major components apart from the engine has a unique code so not possible to trace exactly which car it is from. The two Police guys from the vehicle inspection department didn't know the difference between Ford or Raceleda, they were just keen to have a good look around the car and drink tea while getting paid for there troubles! Really nice guys.

Mines on an age related plate...

I do know someone who has a sierra but I think he would want to much for it. Fuel pump has gone and he only wants 300 for it I think, If you could get a few people to buy the bits off it it might help if you get stuck? I was about to post up on here his details any way in case someone was looking for a full donor...

You can't keep the original number beaause it doesn't use the same chassis, but you can get an age-related (i.e. same prefix/suffix as the donor) if you use enough parts from the donor.

Complete rubbish whippy, you've definately been looking at those girls in the office too much today.

the only bits I used from a sierra in my build was the diff, drive shafts, rear brakes and steering column. The rest is new apart from front calipers which are M16 and the R1 engine and I got age related plate no problem.
