Wtd: 306/205 GTI crank Pulley
Hi all,
Probably not going to have much luck here but worth a shot to get me out of a tricky situation. Has anyone got a crank pulley (harmonic balancer) for
a 306 GTI6 or a solid one for a 205 GTI? Alternatively, where I could get one relatively sharpish!?
I attempted to do a cambelt change on the road car (GTI6) this weekend which should have been easy, but everyone knows the story, all turned tricky in
the end. To keep the timing on the crank you are supposed to pin the outer of the harmonic balancer to the block through the correct holes. However,
in time the outer of the balancer actually slips relative to the centre therefore putting the timing hole in the wrong place. It isn't a problem
keeping the correct timing point until it comes to tensioning the belt when it becomes nion impossible to maintain the correct timing, even with 4
pairs of hands available. Therefore I either need 306-gti6 one in correct alignment or a solid 205gti one which apparently will also do the job.
