TRailer wanted..

Would anyone happen to know of a car transporter trailer for sale in suffolk? To take a normal sized car rather than just a 7?

Cheap is best.

I have one for sale, £450 as it needs a bit of work, brake shoes are shot.

It a 4 wheel trailer, that will take a jag or range rover, its an old commercial trailer so is heavy, not a caravan chassis dressed up.... so you will need something substantial to tow with.

I am also looking for a trailer for my little car, something small and light.

Regards Mark

they do tend to be very cheap to hire though, I can rent one for £25 a day so I'd have to use it a huge amount to justify buying or building one

I got to agree with whippy, £25 a day, and if its a little local outfit they don't mind you borrowing it the night before to save a stupidly early collection.

Not only do you not have to store it, stop it from being nicked, maintain it and possibley insure it, but you got to buy the thing - and they aint cheap!

Only reason I would buy one, is if I was racing every weekend or needed a fully enclosed racing shuttle style (as they don't tend to hire these out)

I think tegwin on here may still have one for sale. I looked at it but decided it was too big for what I wanted so should take a full size car and it was in pretty good nick.
Drop him a U2U.
Cheers, Pewe

Just remember that when towing the trailer and its load must not exceed the "Maximum Braked Trailer Towing Limit" for the car which can be found in the handbook.

So with a 1 ton car sitting on a 1/2 ton trailer, it will probably exceed the towing limit of most standard cars (1.5T total).
The upshot is that you could find yourself being prosecuted for being overweight, and with invalid insurance.

Just make sure that your vehicle is correctly rated to tow the weight you are carrying.
Most ordinary cars are approx 100% of its own weight. With a Car on a trailer, that often exceed the limit fothe towing car.
4x4's are often the only thing that will be able to legally pull a 1 ton car on a heavy trailer.

You will just about get away with a Se7en on a light trailer.

Please make sure you are legal and above all... safe.

1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Hence why I need to out my large trailer and downsize, I used to pull this behind a range rover which is now sold.

BEC on light trailer will suit me, its horses for courses, I prefer to own kit than buy.
At £500 for a trailer that's only 20 journeys, if I resell its was then 20 free journeys.
