WTD:duratec
Don't suppose anybody has a 2.3l duratec lying around that I could have
Alternatively, does anyone know of a ford/general car breakers/engine suppliers thats likely to have one for a reasonable price. I'm looking for
a complete 2.0l for around £500 - £750 (I think thats the going rate..)

Send a U2U to "diyer" on here, he may have a 2.0 Duratec.

Brilliant, I'll buy an R500 and break it for engine. Anyone interested in the rest of the car?

If you beleve the burton cataloge
the best 2.3 engines come from ford rangers, but with a few mod'd bits from burtons (but of course these seem to be really expencive )
so I guess your looking for a focus/ mondeo 05 / 06 or newer..... (i don't know the exact dates)

If I wanted a 2ltr Duratec I would be looking for a salvaged Mk3 Mondeo. Your budget should be able to accommodate a suitable car, make sure you get
one on which the engine will start, then you will know if it's a runner. You will also have a good idea of the mileage (beats relying on the
possibly faulty memory of a breaker!).
Plus there will be lots of other useful bits that can be sold or used
