All things Duratec.

Well, apart from the engine itself.

As the title really, I am looking for Duratec type things to help in the Engine change from Pinto to Duratec in the MK Indy.

Mounts, Bell Housing, Shortened Sump, ST150 Flywheel/Clutch (think that is what I need) - these sort of things.

Cheers

Engine mounts are difficult to obtain cheap, but I'm having some made up by a fellow locoster, who I'm sure would assist you.

You will need a Bell housing, they are all made by Titan but you can get them direct or from RWD motorsport or rally design.

I have used the Titan motorsport hydraulic clutch, so I know it all fits together. Sabb thrust Bearing.

ST150 flywheel (thats my engine) RS Turbo Clutch plate uprated as original is about 130hp i'm after 180-200. AP Racing Heavy duty Pinto plate from Burton

The fingers on the clutch need to be shortened too as it is a FWD plate.

Got my Shortened sump from Dunnell engineering very good quality and middle of the road when it comes to price.

You will also need a Oil filter housing to rotate filter 90 degrees in increase road clearence again from Dunnel.

You will need to put Alternator on opposite side and to do this you need a Ford Focus tensioning pulley, Alternator and LHS mounting brackets.

Then you need an exhaust modification luckly manifold is on the same side as Pinto.

Just seen your other post re throttle bodies I'm using GSXR750 bodies ona Bespoke inlet manifold Built by FastDan he will also do you the engine brackets

You will need to respace them and then get a fuel rail and injectors.

Injectors are inserted directly into the head, so if you use Carbs you will need to blank off the injector pockets.

Well that is my 2 litre Duratec sourced, should be out of the Mondeo and dleivered in a week or two.

OMG, what have I done, just dawning on me the cost of getting this thing in the car and the fact I have next to no knowledge on these things

So still looking for Shortened Sump, Bell housing, flywheel/clutch to fit the type 9 etc.

I guess if anyone has a set of GSXR 750 2001 throttle bodies, I could also be interested. Though I think funds will dictate that I may well run with the dellortos to begin with.
