Wtd: Commuter Bike!

After travelling for three hours on trains today, ive decided that im going to get another bike.

Criteria is;

Less than £1000
Easy to work on
400cc or bigger
Trail / adventure / supermoto type bike with little fairings (Something i can lean against the wall rather than polish)
Reliable (Travelling 100 miles a day)

I know its a big ask, but something like a CCM is ideal. Would also consider an Armstrong MT350, though these can be very pricey.

WHY?

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Ermm have YOU ridden a Bike in traffic recently?? Taking the train is seriously easier and less life threatening.
The idea of spending 2 hours 5 days a week, in Each Direction onna bike is seriously daft.
Suggest borrowing/renting one... and try it ...for a day or 3 before comitting fully.

YES i have, in all seasons. My last bike until 2009 was a TL1000R which i commuted on. The journey is 50 miles each way, so only an hour so not that daft really.

Richard.

i used to do 200 miles a day up and down the M1 on a triumph tiger, heated grips and good water proofs, not an issue at all, actually enjoyed my trip to work, and it was so much quicker than in the car!!! You have to pick a good upright bike, like an enduro so you can see all around you and over the cars infront. I'm actually looking to do the same, a BMW 650 GS is my top choice, but maybe a bit too expensive. Bandit or suzuki SV maybe an option but maybe not upright enough.
