Wtd - Someone to carbon wrap my project

Hi All

Is there anyone on here who can carbon wrap my new project ? ( Ned's unfinished Locost )
I seem to remember there are few on here with links to these sort of people ?

I was toying with the idea of having a go myself, but the 3M stuff is not particularly cheap to buy and one has to realise ones own limitations - mechanics are my thing, not bodywork covering and\or painting.

Once it's coated I have further ideas for decals that I would like to discuss with someone.

I would prefer the business to go someone on here - if not could you point me in the right direction of a decent firm.

Any idea on how much this would cost ?

Thanks in anticipation

Rob

I did mine using the 3m stuff, it was actually quite easy to do, and came out well, see the photos below. If you want any tips, just ask!

Cost me £200 to do everything on my car that I wanted,

Cheers

The 3M stuff is really really good, it's very forgiving indeed. No matter how crinkly and scrunched up it gets you can always heat it up and stretch it out clean again. IMO it's worth the cost as it enabled me to get a good result that I don't think I'd have got anywhere near with more budget stuff. I bought some cheap stuff for the stripes and it's just rubbish by comparison.

Obviously there well might be other good stuff out there, but can only comment on the 3M di-noc stuff.

Hi Adrian

Looks great - you don't fancy a trip north do you

I want the whole car doing - how much do you think that would cost ?

I just envisage loads of air bubbles if i do it.

Nice Toylander in the background too - I've got one of those inbuild also.

Cheers

I would want to go for the good stuff.

Have you got any pictures of yours ?

Also details of 3M suppliers ?

Thanks

Rob

Thanks, I reckon you'd be looking at £350 ish to do the whole car. It's really forgiving, a bit of heat oes a long way! The mirrors I did had some really tight curves, and came out really well.

Underground graphics are a great supplier. If you ring them, you can haggle a good deal!

Here are some pics of mine: build blog. £350 sounds about right, can't remember what I paid, £300ish rings a bell actually.

It seems very durable and easy to clean, better than expected in those respects.

you can't really get air bubbles as the wrap is a weave like fabric so bubbles can escape. It resists chips better than paint too. Dave's white on his car looks great.

Found this which looks like a reasonable price? Go for it when the euro is better though!!
