Stub axle.....

looking for a short stub axle, pref with taper bearings each side, its too pivot my reverse motor/gearbox on, room is tight so the shorter the better, when the motor engages it tries to move sideways as well as drive, i'm thinking useing a short shaft like a stub axle or the like to cope with these loads.

It works ok on the pivot i have made using oilite bush's but with taper bearings i can take out any slack ?

Ideas ? trailor? bike? car? anyone sourced summat like this before?

Not exactly clear what you want to do but Rovers and Hondas use a rear stub axle which is bolted on via a flange fitting --- up to 88 or so they used conventional bearings afrer 1989 with introduction of the 216 fastback the switched to a combined hub and bearing.

Renault Clio rear bearings are ball race type though, not taper roller . would probably be able to get taper type to fit? Rusty
