MK Indy

Hi all,

New to the forum; I've got a significant birthday at the end of the year and fancy building something. I've always had bikes so fancy a BEC and like the look of the MK Indys. Before I take the plunge I want to be sure this is something I can live with. So...

I'm looking to buy a smart MK Indy – road legal, bike engined with a full roll cage. Up to £7k? And ideally based London/South East.

Cheers all

D

That should be doable, but you may have to accept that you travel a bit further to see them
Strongly suggest you get yoursef to Stoneleigh show next month if your doubting whether you can live with one, (which bit are you doubting the BEC bit?)
Just make sure its properly registered if you find one you like

Thanks for the responses. I'm happy with a BEC although would also consider a car engine, it's more the 'faff' factor that's making me nervous. As you note, there is the issue of navigating the paperwork/registration not to mention the build itself.

I've only ever owned cars and bikes that are basically perfect - with dealer warranties and servicing etc. So I want to dip my toe in the water first.

There shouldn't be any faff any more than any other vehicle.
I got the impression you wanted to buy an OTR car not build one?
It was just a caution that if you buy a built car, that it is correctly described on the log book.
Stoneleigh usually has a selection of cars for sale too.
A well built car or BEC should not give you any more problems other than servicing, but if you are not spanner happy, then you probably want to get a bit of advice as to who might look after that aspect for you, locally?
