Mk1 8" brakes are every bit as good as MK2 8"

there is place in wales(?) where I got complete rear brake assembly, 8 in for mk2 escort, inc drums, shoes etc for £ 30; if you want details, I can get it.

dunno if they may sell the plates on their own?

I replaced the cycliders, you can have the old ones for a beer money + postage. - i.e. dead cheap - they look good. you can get the seals; my local place did not have them but seals hence I bought news one - they have come up on ebay and other folks have managed to get them.
