You after ally uprights, or the axle assembly?
I only say that because it would be a very brave (or stupid) man who attempted the axle/drive flange in ally. Although it can be, and is, done in
steel axle and ally flange. But not any ordinary ally, either.
Uprights are a 'been done' item.
Cheers,
Syd.

IIRC there isn't such a big weight saving replacing the Sierra ones with alloy. Could be wrong though........

Nope! They do Cortina hubs.
Starting to see a little sideline in Sierra hubs looming!

hubs
Do you mean uprights?
If so car builders solutions but you want like the price!!
They fit ford sierra bearing and cost lots!!!!
Why don't you get someone like us the Fab you some light weight steel ones?

Nope, dont mean uprights! Using the Dax fabricated uprights on their CCAR system, just fancied loosing some wieght on the hubs as well.

Have you weighed the sierra hubs?? the cortina ones were about two Kg's so worth changing to ally jobbies, but the sierra ones
'Look' as though they would only weigh half that as std, and if that's the case is it worth your hard earned to loose half a Kilo
per side ??

As yet no, I havent weighed them. Need to split them off of the uprights first and then I will.
Looking to save as much as I can, as I think saving the weight will be cheaper then tuning the Hayabusa engine!
Still, ultimatly I may do both!

There comes a point though, where the cost for the potential weight saving would be far better spent on something like getting the car setup properly
or having the engine professionally tuned or a custom exhaust made by someone like Tony Law.
Having said that, if you can afford all the above AND lightweight parts, then why not.........

When we last had it weighed, it was 506kg's IIRC. Since then, we have shed around 15kg's on lightweight brakes and disks so would expect
it to be around 490kg. Measured 154bhp at rear wheels on Dyno at Holeshot Racing.
The figures quoted above are ACTUAL figures, so you're lookin at about 314bhp/tonne.

I was just curious to see what I might expect from mine when I get round to weighing it and getting it RR'd. It's a standard indy with a
carb'd bird with air filter and I presume a dyno jet or similar kit fitted. There is some weight to shed yet as it has the vented disks at the
front and sierra calipers all round still.

Even without the lightweight calipers and discs, yours will still be devastatingly quick with a Blackbird engine

Well Im aiming for around 430-450KG Rush with Hayabusa power. Think these make around 175bhp as standard.

I think the power varies a fair bit depending upon year. I've seen the '01 engine rated at 158, but I don't know if this is at the
crank or wheels.

At the crank, yes. Most manufacturers quote figures at the crank not RWHP
