Willys Jeep
Wilys MB, Ford GPW WWII or a Hotchkiss 201 jeep wanted.
Have looked into building a new one and all the parts will cost 15K. Dont want to spend that much.
Jeep wanted that needs restoring, not too much please. There was a restored one on ebay close to me that he wanted 9.5K so much cheaper than that
please...

Not exactly an answer to your question, but could a Willys replica be easily built on a a Suzuki SJ chassis?
Does anyone do a proper 4WD Willys rep? I seem to remember a Jago version, but that was based on an Escort, I think.

I'm sure I've seen Jagos converted to Suzuki running gear - there was an article in a kit car mag a few years back telling of the
resurection of Jago (or was it Eagle) using Vitara bits.

There are several true 4 x 4 versions of the Jago jeep in existence- Suzuki SJ, diahatsu , Landrover etc check out the club website for info

detailed build instructions are included in a members only area, Club membership is available for the price of a few cans of ale.
Cars cost slightly more but you can obtain a complete ( ie all parts there) dog for £100 and something respectable for £600ish. If you are planning a
respray you might pick up something which is mechanically good but rather faded in the gel coat
We have 2 of these at the moment with another 2 in the pipeline - real locost fun vehicles!

One of the modern jeeps available from the east are made from the pressings as used by the original Willys Jeep. I can't remember which make it
is though (could be Tata).
There is a company in the Uk that buys them, removes the modern coverings and sells them as replicas.
If at first you don't succeed, hide all evidence you ever tried!

A willys or ford gpw for resto will cost in excess of £4k unless it's a real basket case. More if it is genuine dated pre 45 and has ww11 battle
history and matching numbers. Add excess of £10k restoration costs and the first price dont look bad really does it 
The resto's by true enthusiasts are immense and are reflected in the price. i think you maybe asking for the impossible tbh.
a later Hotchkiss or m38 is more likely in your price bracket.
Scour Classic Military Vehicle and Military Machines International for prices. Both available in main branches of WHSmiths.
Think the one from the East is a Mahindra not convinced they used original pressings though they are squarer and used a peugeot diesel iirc 
On trextr7 note here are a few pics of my jago 4x4 conversion. the jago styled on the cj(x?) style jeep.

Have a look halfway down the page. They sell body tubs, not sure of price though.
You might be able to make a Jago fit that!

That's what I was thinking of - should look good and perform off-road as well (if that's what you've got in mind)

My Son cant afford it now he is at uni.
I told him that would be the case!!

Kia did a scaled down version called the Rocksta, I've not seen one since the 90's though I think they all rotted away.
