WANTED - 2wd Long nose type 9 from 2.8 ford
I desperately need a type 9 gearbox with a longer nose, (long input shaft) from a V6 sierra. Anyone got one for sale or to swap for a clean standard
type 9?
Cheers.
Steve.

Steve,
Could possibly help have a 2.8 V6 XR4X4 Donor car.
Is it the same box as you have said 2WD?

It's called an XR4i - Not to be confused with the 2.0l version they gave the same badge in the 90's
If Mike Smith's box is a type 9 v6 then you can remove the rear transfer box and replace it with a normal 2.0 tail housing very simply. Although
the selector rod needs re-drilling as the pin is in a different location that retains the gear level spring.
There is also no speedo drive as the 4x4 boxes don't have the speedo cog on the output shaft (it's on drive output that passes through the
sump)

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
