Ali tank, baffled and sumped to take R1 pump
I had originally thought about putting a swirl pot under the bonnet and adapting it to fit the R1 pump but that would have still required a return
feed to the tank and some adjustments to my existing tank so I am now thinking it would be easier to have a new tank made to the same dimensions as my
existing one which is baffled and sumped with the correct boss mounted on the underside to accept the R1 pump. This will give a much neater and
lighter install.
I've done a search previously and I'm sure I found mention of someone who could fab such a thing for me for reasonable bucks, I've
done another search today and can't find it!!
Are you that man?
Do you know who could make me such a tank?
Do you have a tank to sell?
Any info gratefully received.
Andy

I think Paulmw has one with a ZX10R pump in it and that was made by MK Engineering. Have you tried Optimum Balance Products (on here)?? Their
fabrication is excellent and am sure they can help you out (and i recon i should be on commission!!! )

welderman, is that up and running?
If so does it work ok? have you any baffles, any problem with starvation, I thought you would need a deeper sump to guarantee fuel? Did you make the
bit for the pump to bolt to? I believe someone on here sells these?
tomblyth, sorry miss understood, plan was to make new tank to do away with swirl pot and additional pump
Bit new to names and companies, seen mk keep popping up so does a fella called martin keenan same or coincidence with the initials

Hi Andy, i made the tank myself and it works, has two baffle plates in and i bought the ally boss from MK Engineering, cant remember how much though.
The R1 pump has its own littlr sump thingy too i was told so, yep works fine.
Cost me approx 70 quid for the ally sheet, then the boss?, then my time to weld it up(free).

cheers Terry, sorry to hear about the car and your jollies, was following Marks thread on the wscc.
I want a tank which the R1 pump will bolt straight into preferrably so i'll say no for now as i'd have to get yours modded anyway.
