Which 4x4
Im looking for a 4x4, as my current whim! Will be for proper offroading, with a winch fitted. But im undecided which make to go for. Im thinking dead
cheap, ie under a grand.
My friends all say landrovers are well unreliable, but i do like the look of a defender. Ive owned a terrano and a pajero, which both did ok. I want
something with useful difflocks, not just a rear lsd. Not sure if they all have this option though. Another choice would be a trooper.
Anyone have any thoughts on these?
Cheers!

If you are only looking for something for mud pluging then get yourself a Suzuki
Cheap as chips,

Lada Niva? Two on ebay at the moment, both around the £500 mark
The mental gymnastics a landlord will employ to justify immoral actions is clinically fascinating. Just because something is legal doesn't make
it moral.

Another vote for the Suzuki SJ. My mate has one solely for off-roading/green lanes and it's great. If you've ever watched any 4*4
eventing it's brilliant seeing a little 1.0 SJ wiping the floor with a V8 Land Rover namely because they're so light.

personally I would have recommended a SWB Landrover having thrown one off what seemed like cliff, lost control a bit and pushed the bumper back into
the wheels... we fixed it with a sledge hammer there and then the big Jap stuff where the ones that where getting snagged on rocks and
stuff, not enough ground clearance..
However looking at the attack angle on the suzuki, to have hit the front bumper off the ground, you proably wouldn't have been going anywhere
afterwards, except in an ambulance.
I would still err towards the side of being able to fix with force if you have a wee spill, also have solid axles rather than struts and driveshafts,
but it was a long time ago I was doing that stuff, and things have moved on.

I might have just the thing for you!
Landrover 110, turbo diesel engine. County Station Wagon, 12 months MOT, 5 months tax.
2" lift and big tyres.
I'd be after a bit more than a grand though. (£1,300?)
Let me know if you are interested and I'll post up some photos.

I have a friend who's going to be selling a Suzuki Jimny soon, more or less the same as the blue one earlier in the thread (though without any
of the extra add ons).
Don't know price, but I can always ask...
