WTD: Throttle bodies

Hello everybody!

I know the wanted section is really hit and miss but I don't suppose anyone has any throttle bodies I could buy for my XE. I'm keeping the standard ignition but wanted to change the induction.

In the future I plan to change to forced induction so I dont want to pay the £1 million SBD are asking for their custom jobbies.

Or would anybody in the know know if I can just fit these on a custom manifold from bogg bros et al?

Go for TB's like the Suzuki Hayabusa's... you can dismantle them and re-space to suit your inlet ports.

Bogg Bros or Altiss Engineering (bit more expensive, but you'll see where the extra money went) will then make you manifolds to suit.

PS... they'll do the spacing for you too if you want them to.

It is obviously for a Zetec but I am sure a manifold could be knocked up for your XE

Brilliant, I'll look into getting a manifold made up and I'll space them myself using that guide .

Thanks for the heads up on separatable TBs, does anyone know other alternatives?

The only thing i noted from that guide was the use of chemical metal which i raised a post question about

throttle body question link

i went for ali blanks in the end

Ali bungs

i respaced mine which makes the manufacture of the manifold eaiser as no compound bends required, however not knowing much on the XE manifold dont know what you do about injectors as im using a RS1800 injector sandwich plate. if you need to use the standard motorbike injectors would then require a respaced fuel rail which makes things more complicated
i believe there is a XE set up on ebay which has been on for some time which looks expensive but apears to use a modified standard manifold, also think you can get manifold blanks for about £20

Would I be right in thinking that it would be fairly straightforward to modify my standard manifold as per that link for the zetec if I buy bike carbs that can be separated, such as the gsxrs?

That way the injection will stay the same, no need to change the fuel rail etc.

This is my first foray into TB's/injection so sorry if I'm saying something stupid.
