Huge admiration for that guy. I was mechanic on a mate's FF2000 in 81 and we did the Radio Trent series, a local championship. This Brazillian
guy, Ayrton Senna da Silva turned up and just wiped the floor with everybody.
At first all the other drivers were up in arms crying cheat. Very quickly everyone realised that this guy was in fact, a driving genius. A sad day
when we lost him. In my opinion Schumacher would have been a poor second.
RIP

almost finished reading his biography by tom rubython, fascinating read. cannot recommend it enough. great insight.
what a legend although cos he never raced for the red team i was never a supporter, still admired though.
been a bit of a rush job really, bodged it all together in just 5 1/2 years.

Can you believe it'll have been 15 years to the day tomorrow since he died? Damn, that makes me feel old!
I remember it all too vividly. Sat there in shock for the rest of the day.
A real racing driver IMHO unlike these male model marketing tools we watch these days.
