I doubt it. Why would you commemorate two of the three main allies and leave the other out? Overlord was conceived by the Brits too.

i think the average french man/woman would welcome us ,it,s just when the french get some sort of uniform they get all power crazed and nasty...till
they want something from us

I heard too that the french were suggesting that it's a franco american thing. However in the streets of normandy I saw Union Flags and French
Tricolours but no Stars and Stripes so I guess the locals are embrassing the brits contribution.

60% of the forces on D-Day were british or commonwealth. Even loads of the American landing craft were crewed by the Royal Navy.
