swb transit size of floor space please
looking at buying a van due to loosing job and want to know the size of the floor space between wheel archs and length basicly want to put faulse
floor in to hold 8 ft by 4ft sheets of board

Should do low down
Not entirely sure specifically about the latest transit but the ability to carry 8’ x 4’s was the original selling point when the Transit was first
launched and as the builders vehicle of choice I can’t see that being different know. One caviat is that most of the SWB vans (I have a VW
Transporter) will only take 8x4’s low down because the load length decreases as you get higher off the floor basically the seats angle backwards and
the tailgate angles forward as you get higher

The Original Mk1 Transit was built around the need to carry 8x4ft sheets of building materials.
Didnt you watch Top Gear, and the one specifically about the Transit, with the german Frau (Sabine) who took the Tranny round the Nurburg Ring,
driving like a Demon!
She was overtaking Prosches and Bikers in a Tranny Van... Its was Brilliant and just ACE 
All Tranny's should take 8x4 sheets, unless its been converted into a motorhome!

You need a lwb as the swb takes 8x4 across the load area standing up not to much of a problem for me but a big problem if you are a chippy and want
to carry ten boards at a time.
A contractor friend once stuck 20 sheets of plaster board on a courier van and the roof went clonk and dented. stuck a jack and a block of cls in and
pushed it out its very heavy stuff
