Doh
Well technically, most of our cars are mid engined as the enge is behind the front wheels (definition of mid engine according to clarkson)

Mid-engined definition.....
Engine between front and rear axles but BEHIND the driver
....any car with the engine in front of the driver is FRONT engined, even if it is right on CoG.
Traditional definition and one I will defend to my death....

After far too many years procrastinating, I am finally starting a 90% version of this.
It shows up in my photo archive, if not here.

Now to save up for the zx14

That's similar. The original design had a bit more shape at the front, before the aero guys got at it, and is a little more shapely and
prettier.
I'm doing it as a (cramped) two seater cockpit size, as the original was, with the aim of mainly track use, but road as well.
I want to do a full size after, for car engines. The original was for a Peugeot 2l on a Hewland box. Audi comes quickly to mind.
The only big problem is headlight location, to meet height regs, and still keeping good looks.
Cheers,
Nev.

sounds good, the height of the headlights do look like they would be a problem, sure youll find a way round it.
