wheel insert ???

Hello,
i have bought some capri wheels from another locostbuilder( thank you SeanStone).

They will be sanblasted and powdercoated.

Now, there is some insert on the wheel ( where the bolt pass through the wheel).

link to my photo archive :

I only have 4 , and of course i need 16.

So , what is the name of that part ?
Where can i find some new ones ?

thanks,

Gerardo

They are laser rims arnt they ?

They should have 60 deg seats.

I have never seen one come out or seen them availabe seperatly.

How on earth did you get them out ?

I am guessing you will want some more wheels.

I bought 4 wheels.
One of them had the inserts in.
other had no insert.

I took the inserts out of the wheel by knocking simply with a small hammer.

So , i don't want other wheels, i want new inserts.

All the wheels I have seen without them have been scrap.

They are seat repair inserts, you can use standard wheel nuts with them. Knock them back in and use taper washer nuts.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

may be of help. They used to sell a "ghia" wheel washer that looks like the ones from your wheel but without the ridges on the sleeve section. Escort conversion washers may work (used on alloys so you can use the std wheelnuts)

I should imagine those wheels are scrap. I have a couple complete with tyres you are welcome to in my garage if you want to arrange a courier but for the life of me I can't see how those inserts game out. I'm jolly sure they are not meant to come out and equally sure that once out the seating will be so damaged a repair would be ineffective without machining an oversize seat.

Of course I could be prooved wrong - but I don't think so.

Cheers

David
