Wanted, short term loan of an m8 rivnut setting tool

Hi Folks, I'd like to borrow a rivnut setting tool that will accomodate M8 rivnuts. Does anyone have one that I could borrow for a weekend? I have only got to set 3 rivnuts.

Or does anyone know a way to set them, without a dedicated tool? Mine only goes up to 6mm.

I'm in Colchester.
Thanks in advance
Rich

i bought a tool and broke it so now i just use 2 spanners and it just as good
you need a bolt and a nut in the right size and 2 spanners put the nut on the bolt then in to the insert leave about 5mm from the top then the insert up to the nut , put it in the hole put both spanners on hold the nut and then do up the bolt untill you feel it pull the insert up

hope that makes sense and helps mabe try in a spart part first

Easy peasy - geta short length of steel bar 3/4 mm thick , drill a 8mm hole through near one end .
Grab a centre punch and dot around the hole , fairly close .
Pop the 8mm back through .
Put a bolt and washer through (with a drop of oil on the washer/thread), screw on a rivnut - place in the desired position , and tighten the bolt till the rivnut is set - I use a 3/8th rattle gun and stop when the bar stops vibrating / trying to turn .

Works a treat and costs nothing

Its cuz I is blond , innit

I made one on my lathe - total cost around £1 + scrap metal. The only thing I had to buy was a thrust bearing...

Soooo easy to use...
