Anyone recomend the best place for a power supply lead for a Acer aspire lap top,
looked on e-bay but some of the feed back looks iffy (burst into flames, lap top melted)

Do you want just the mains cable or the complete power unit?

Avoid any Chinese copies, they are very badly made. I had one that failed within a few days and took it apart to find the transformer was a fraction of the size of the original and a big chunk of steel had been put inside the case to make it feel as heavy as the OEM part.

Genuine chargers from UK suppliers on eBay are fine.

I had the same problem with the same make and model laptop.
I bought one off eBay from a UK seller that when I plugged in caused the mouse pad to go haywire once it got to 3/4 charge.
I asked for a replacement and got one sent - eventually ! Judging by the emails the seller wasn't English.
The replacement does the same - any ideas anyone ?

Sorry for the highjack - but yours might do the same.

Maplins do them but.... I had trouble with the one I bought, it powered the laptop OK but it kept knocking out the connection on the BT wireless router, no idea why

Its the power supply unit not just the mains, it must have an internal break just before the plug into the lap top was thinking about repairing it.
Bmseven if you have 1 that would be spot on, cheers everyone for the help.
