WTD: R1 5PW
Hi,
does anyone have a R1 5PW motor kicking about they want to sell as mine has just died on a run out I think its the gearbox which has died but is
prob easier just to replace the motor

I dont know what happened to it and I dont want to look after waiting for 2 hours to be recovered I can only select 2 gears and cant get into nutral

Bent selector fork ?
I'd contact Malc about rebuilding it - he's not back from Hols until Thursday though.
A lot cheaper than a new engine I would have thought.

Probably the heavy handed gearshift (big lever) buggering the selector forks or even worse the dogs.
They are such delicate little things...
May I suggest a hand operated clutch and foot operated gearshift? Everyone complains the clutch in a bec is a pita, then wonder why the gearbox gives
up the ghost with whacking great gear changes using a massive lever.
I used to hammer the live out of my old Z1000 but changing gear without the clutch was a matter of resting on the gearshift and easing off the
throttle. Clutch was used for downshifting and performing massive wheelies...

give me a bell at the unit - I have a short block and possibly a gearbox which gives you 2 options to sort the issue
