The British built R-Tech ones are supposed to be good but are more money.

I fancy one too just because they are cool but if I'm honest with myself I don't do enough fab work to justify it.

If you scrutinised other people's posts you would see that as well as his car, "philw" will shortly have a plasma cutter for sale !!!

(though why anybody in his right mind would want to cut any plasma is beyond me?)

Yes this may well be true but fortunately I have a life!

I also have 3 locosts to build and 2 more to supervise and help with, not to mention the modded Mini I want to finish and sell as well as my own modified GT4 Celica to run. My boat engine has a hole in the water jacket that needs to be welded up before I can go bass hunting and Mothers in hospital for the 3rd week now so not much time to read all the threads. I must try harder!

Seriously though cheers for the replies all. I have gone and bought this one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160443866901&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching

The only thing is, it's touch start so I may make up a sprung loaded guide roller for it but it's so cheap it's nearly a disposable item when you consider I paid £70 odd just for a cheapish torch and liner for my mig!
