Rose joint insert supplier
Hi - I am struggling to find an insert for a rose joint that I have. Anyone know of any good (helpful) suppliers.
I would upload some pictures but I dont seem to have the option on the 'post new topic' form that I am filling out.....errr? Probably
being an idiot, but have uploaded pics in the past with no probs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Matt
Many thanks

At the very least you need to specify the thread pitch and diameter and the OD of the insert you require.

Still cant get the pic up so I'll try to describe:
The insert is a reducer and also a spacer.
Spacer portion OD 20mm, ID 10mm, length 11mm.
Insert portion (goes inside the rose joint) OD12mm, ID 10mm, length 15mm
Would be so much easier with a picture!!
Thanks for the help.

could be - was in touch with them yesterday. need to confirm the dimensions on the 'spacer' part.
Was thinking of machining one down on a lathe - is there a potential issue with material strength?

No material strength problem if there is a good close fitting hight tensile bolt through the middle!
PS - I'm sure that you could machine a better fitting bush than the one stocked by McGill - but theirs are handy and cheap

If their bush is slightly loose, smear the surface with permanent thread lock and push into the bearing. Once set there will be no play. I saw a
machinist blank up a hole he'd drilled too large do this once. When it had set, he drilled the insert without it coming loose.
