WTD 600cc bike

Im after a 600cc bike.

Looking at cbr600
yzf 600 thundercat
zzr600
Maybe a bandit.

Have about a grand to spend maybe a little more for the right bike.

Prefer localish.

You might want to consider the SV650 in that list as well, and there's plenty of clean bikes in your price range.

You won't get much of a CBR600 for a grand. When i was looking for a bike one of the best bargains I found were ZZR600's - maybe a bit bland looking but well built and will still quick enough to worry more modern 600 sports bikes.

agreed the cbr's in good nick never seem to drop below 1300 for decent examples.

ZZR is cheaper, doesn't handle quite as well, but is pretty much as quick.

The CBR would be my choice over the thundercat, having owned both bikes at some time over the last few years.

CBR is quite buzzy and has a tightish riding position for covering distance ...even the earlier ones....having said that plenty have toured on more focused machinery.....!

In my opinion an untidy / neglected bike will be a mistake, parts are very expensive, especially panels, you may well end up spending more getting it presentable and usable than buying a minter in the 1st place.

Don't buy a pup and spoil the biking experience, if you're not sure yourself take someone with you who knows about bikes, headstock and swingarm bearings, wheel bearings, fork and rear damping efficiency etc. etc. any of which can transform a nice tight well handling bike into a shopping trolley.

Make sure the break disks, chain /sprokets are good.
Just that lot could cost you half you buget.

I bought a CBR400 a while back.
And after a new chain/sprokets SS exhaust It went on for 7 years with out much other than Oil/filter.

PS look out for reversing tesco vans

How about a Kawasaki ER6N in that case?

They come highly recommended!
