Anyone able to make small brass castings?
Does anyone have the capabilities to make small brass castings, and willing to help me out with a couple of these, obviously happy to pay.
Its a jet lever for an SU HD8 carb, for manual choke, which is NLA, but when it was was part of a larger component.
I can do the machining and finishing but not the casting.

They're XJ6 carbs, I'm converting to E Type spec, that lever's off the one E Type carb I have.
I'm presently running twin SUs, but trying to get a bit closer to standard triple carbs.

I can! Or to be more precise, my best mate can. He has just started casting brass for some small steam engines. Does a wicked high quality job too!
You will need to send me the part to be reproduced as he makes a silicon mould which you then fill with wax. The wax gets layered with fine plaster
and then sand and then plaster and so on to around ten thicknesses. You melt the wax out finishing with a blow torch and then heat to near molten
brass temp. Then you pour in the brass which can be melted using oxy propane in the bottom of an old diy mig bottle cut down into a crucible.
You might be able do the above yourself but if not then Mick will probably do it for you for a modest enough fee!

Might be worth ringing The Carburettor Exchange in Leighton Buzzard, always found them to be very helpful
