pair of springs wanted 9" 1.9id 250-300lb ??

as per the title, got a pair of 8" 200lb springs in place at the moment, but its too saggy, and need a lot of preload to get the ride height right

so anyone got anything kicking about as per the title

1.9" ID is set in stone, length and lb are flexible to a degree, what ya got and how much posted

thanks

Tony

Tony,

Sorry to hear the 200lbs/inch didn't do it. I've still got those ones I listed before 275lbs/inch 1.9inch i.d. 9inch long, a proper pair.

hey no need to apologise LOL

at least it has given me a known quantity and a direction to go in, my build is hardly "standard"

those sound ideal

will double check my guessing tomoro and get back to you

thanks

aha just came on here to say that Im a little concerned how much of a jump 275 is

Im a bit of a numpty with this sort of thing, I build hardtail bikes normally, and dont have to worry about springs etc LOL

the thing is that I have the pair of 200lb springs on the back, its about the right springyness but got full preload to get it to ride at the right height with weight, hence the thought about longer springs

if I go for the 275 am I correct in thinking that if I want to "soften" it slightly, I could move the bottom mount inboard thus increasing the mechanical leverage of the wishbone and the suspension characteristics?

handling isnt an issue, its a trike, but some movement is, as my back is knackered.

Andy how much are them 240's posted?

thanks guys

£25 seems to be the going rate.

No worries.

I think if the springiness is right, then you don't want to get stiffer springs, you just want longer springs with the same rate. If you go from 8inch 200lb/inch to 9inch 275lb/inch. Then your ride height will go up by 1inch for the additional length and then (assuming 200lb weight on each spring) an extra (200/200 versus 200/275) 1/4inch for the stiffer spring.

I don't know enough about your geometry and know nothing about trikes, so I can't guess what might work.

U2U me if it turns out that my springs are useful, I forget to go back to old threads.
