Is this to replace a knackered engine? You realise the 5jj and 5vy are totally different motors?
5jj and 5pw are very similar, if you already have a 5jj I think the 5pw would replace it easier

Different ways of looking at it 5pw better torque and gearing so I've heard compared to 5vy.
5pw is the first injection model

Yes, not sure how much more. But the gearing and power band with the 5pw is better suited to a BEC in my opinion.
Don't get carried away with peak power figures, a 130hp blade engined car will still be mental. I know someone who had a fury with a 893 blade
and now has a Phoenix with a 5pw r1 and said there's barely anything in it factoring gearing and setup etc in.

5PW sounds the way forward power commander, air filter and a good set up should be good fun!

Don't believe them! More power and more revs wins.
Hobbsy is probably the man to ask. His car is 5PW and he rode in mine (5VY) for a few days when his broke in the Alps last year. He's probably
best placed to compare.

From what I've seen in RGB, a 30kg heavier car with 5VY engine performs the same as the lighter car with 5PY. In other words the power advantage
of the later engine is worth the same as 30kg weight advantage.

Thats clearly car and driver weight so not remotely related to the engine weight :/ they're not all built the same, nor are the drivers!
30kg is nearly half what a 5pw motor weighs!
