Had a brainfart MT75 Reverse Gate
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe a silly question but is there a IVA/legal need for a reverse gate..? ie does there have to be some sort of method ,be it push down lift up etc
to engage revrse gear ? i ask this as my gearstick is very close to hitting my handbrake in 2nd and 4th ....thinking if i fabricate a gearstick with
an offset i could get around this...but possibly might have to do away with the pin and spring (mt75) that needs lifted to engage reverse....what do
ya think ....

Not sure if a detent is an IVA requirement, but personally I would be very reluctant to do away with it. Could you cut down the handbrake mechanism
(may be difficult) or reduce the length of the gear lever, if not already done, which would reduce the absolute throw of the lever.
Not sure how a short lever would affect use of an MT75 but my lever on a Type 9 is only about 5 inches long and is perfectly usable.

Its not an issue you can remove the reverse interlock.
I also shortened mine and it made the gear change feel very good.
