WTD: Someone to Punch Me (Hard) In The Teeth!

What is it with me and bloomin bike clocks!?

You'll remember the Busa ones that I sent to Malc at Yorkshire Engines that went AWOL and then the PO refused to pay-up because I couldn't provide a proof of purchase for them. Well at least I could direct my rage at them... this time I have no one to blame but myself!

I bought a set of down-pipes and clocks for the Aprilia engine off of eBay. Two separate transaction and a day apart - it never twigged that I'd bought them from the same seller.

Anyway - the exhaust arrived. Came in a box with a generous amount of paper packaging and all the bits were lying neatly on the top. Delighted!

Ten days on and my speedo has yet to surface, so I contact the seller and he says it was sent out and has been signed for. Much head-scratching later and I remembered that I'd only had the one package delivered around the time it was allegedly signed for and that was the exhaust.

That's when the seller tells me, 'yep, they were in the same box, the clocks were packaged in amongst the paper-padding at the bottom". That'll be the box that was burned in my most recent garden bonfire then!!!

I AM A GIMP!

The guts of a hundred quid sent up in smoke!

in order to provide yourself with some cheer may I suggest a quick google search for images of "last day at work" a whole tanker load of unortunate souls who've cocked up in a big public way.

If he charged you two lots of postage I'd say you could claim for an item not delivered if you were being bloody minded.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

On a good note it will save you the time you would have spent packaging them up and selling them again a few weeks .

Just a thought Scootz, but is there no chance of being honest and claiming them on you insurance. I mean, you.ve bit the bullet here, so why not with Mr insurance, it was accidental afterall.

On a similar vein, I was once given a THICK handfull of notes (£20's) to go and pick up and pick up some body panels for the friend of a friends really old Bently. Knowing the chap in question, I knew that he would have only given me the 'right' amount of money (being 'careful' like he is), so when I was handed the parts I just handed over the money. When I handed the parts over to him he said " I presume the change was enough for you for picking these up for me". I was gutted, apprently there should have been a little over £50 in change, this was nearly 30 years ago.

I could claim, but that'll shoot the next years premiums up through the roof.
