WTD: Defender bulkhead?
Hi everybody
Just wondered if anybody has a 'rot free' defender bulkhead that they would like to part with?
It can be from a 2.5n/a or 200 or 300 or td5 but not the puma as i will mod the later ones to fit.
Its for my current 1987 land rover 90 project that im putting in a 300tdi and auto box and galvanising every bit of steel that i can find and the
bulkhead is going to be treated to the same protection but i need a good bulkhead to start with.
when i removed my old bulkhead there was not much metal left.
So anybody got anything?

I found the bulkhead ended up unusable as it buckled when I got one hot dip galvanised.
Always wondered why there was no one making stainless versions, the bulkhead is such common rusty bit. I've had to weld a few up in the past,
always around the screen hinge area and the missing footwells.

Try Equicar, they are not the cheapest, but do have quality take off parts.

Yes Galv Bulkheads.. yes they are prone to warping when dipped.
I had a chassis from these people.

However, their products are good (well I did mine 10 years ago)
They do all sorts of galv bits. like the back underfloor supports and bits like that.
I had them change my chassis, although they missed the split pin on the steering drop arm, (They did that to another customer who wrote his landy off
on the way home). Mine had 2 turns on the nut as I pulled onto the drive at home. I was not pleased to say the least.
Also they had MoT's the vehicle as part of the chassis change... and the MoT station missed the missing split pin as well.
So not impressed by their workmanship. Althought that was 10 years ago.
I am still impressed by the quality of their parts, as they were good, and it was that, was the deciding factor to use them.
On my Lightweight, I got a half decent bulkhead and fitted repair parts, which worked well.
Hope this is of use to you.
