Have you looked into Wickes? They alternate between 50% off all kitchens and free appliences, time your order right and you can get 50% off plus an
extra 10%.... I have one of their solid oak kitchens, was a very good price and similar quality compared to one of the intoto ones I looked at...

Another vote for wickes kitchens, even the off the shelf stuff is very acceptable and good prices.
I had one of the ordered kitchens from them in my old house, excellent quality very strong and as said they seem to always have a deal on.

+1 for Wickes. My Mum's Wickes kitchen still looks/works like new after 5 years. She did use a good fitter.

Are you sure that Howdens don't do one. It's only a few months since we fitted a beautiful gloss white one in an extension we had built
for a customer.

Howdens have a once a year sale on at the moment. You can almost name your price. Trade only but a good fitter will buy it on your behalf. I have hade
one for 5 years still looks good, but as said depends on the fitter(me). I can sort one out if anyone local to me needs a kitchen.

B&Q prices are good if you can blag a tradepoint card. In fact, shelf price is on offer too on gloss white slab kitchens, about £17 for an average
door.
Check out

for a slightly more expensive but rather nice selection.

I've got a howdens kitchen I fitted in May, top notch fair play.
Went to B&Q on sale plus 15% extra off weekend to get a quote, then drove it over to howdens and they beat it, as is their pledge.
I'd recommend one, a major plus install wise is all the base and wall units come pre assembled so it's far quicker to fit
The Howdens I use is trade only (it's the company policy) but it varies, for instance the other branch a little further away will serve anyone
so it's worth a try. Also to note is the trade only branch are quite finnicky about who they serve but even they gave my bro in law an account
when he said he was a property developer!
I've got B&Q trade too but it's only as cheap as a kitchen on sale as far as I'm aware

hi guys..... i blagged a trade account with howdens and they came back with a price of 2k without work tops etc.
ikea was about £1500 without worktops
just trying to make a little cheaper as ive mortgaged myself upto the eye balls and need a new kitchen :O)
ill try go back to howdens and see what they can do for me. the kitchen did look nice but at £100 a unit even with the 80% discount i was a little
disappointed to see that price.

I've had several kitchens from B&Q (not for the same house!) and found them to be good enough quality. Also managed to hit the 'half
price doors with a further 25% off' and the '50% off carcasses' with each kitchen. They almost end up paying you to take them
away....
Just spend a bit more time fixing battens to the walls to screw the units to and make sure everything is square, and glue and screw the joints to make
sure it's as solid as possible.

Your not trying hard enough, b&screw (Dragonville, Durham) have just quoted us for a kitchen and the doors are coming in at less than £12.50
each.
Local Howdens rep does not have a clue how he is supposed to match, never mind beat these prices.

I too used Wickes for my recent kitchen. It all came to about 1500 in the end. Including tops ( Wife wanted quite expensive ones ( 150 ea) but bought
cheaply via EBay, sink, cooker hood, kick boards, units, end panels and all that jazz.
Still looks good and is lasting well. I bought during one of those special special weekend ones and bought take away units.

I have to say that while I applaud your collective skills at 'getting a deal', I can't help thinking that you've all fallen
into the kitchen manufacturer's marketing trap.
I've done a few kitchens but have never bought one. I really don't see the point in spending £1000+ on coated chipboard furniture. I have
always made my own using real wood and the last but one was made using stud wall material and plasterboard.
Another I helped a colleague make was made from bricks and we even made the worktops using reinforced concrete which was then tiled.
It may just be the older houses over here but 'standard' kitchen units rarely fit the space available and making your own is both cheaper
and more efficient in terms of space.
OK it takes longer to do but it is Locost.
Each to their own I suppose. My current kitchen does have a couple of Ikea units but these were free...

Im on about the gloss white doors, other doors in the catalogue go down to £10 each.
The bad thing IMHO about B&Q is the awful pattern inside the units. Why cant they just do plain white?!

Maybe Howdens aren't so cheap in comparison to the others when looking at the take away ranges etc so i'll retract the bit about them
beating all quotes.
Mine cost a very big lot of money all told, but the wife is pleased, and I'm now buying a new car with her blessing!
