19mm rear brake cylinders ?

Hello All,

Just failed IVA on brake bias and its been suggested that I try 19mm diameter rear cylinder to reduce the braking force.

I'm on sierra rear drums.

Does anyone know where to get them or what model to order.

I've seen some 19mm transit cylinders will these fit?

Thanks Paul

Check with your local Ford dealer but I'm pretty sure that the Ford Cortina had 19mm wheel cylinders and I'm also pretty sure they will fit your Sierra brakes.

You will need to identify which rear brakes you have fitted first, Ford used brakes from different manufactures.
The Brakes International online shop gives info on cylinder bores.

Thanks for that.

I'll go to Rochdale, Brakes International on Saturday morning and get sorted out.

The Cortina has 19mm or 17.8mm cylinders which will do the job.

19.05mm

Brake engineering WC4918 Wheel Brake Cylinder, use that at most motor factors and they should be able to cross reference to other makes

Adrian

You cant be that far away if your going to Rochdale

Why do I have to make the tools to finish the job? More time then money.

That will fit the Lucas-Giirling type but Ford also used Teves as a rear brake supplier and the two patterns of cylinders can't be interchanged the Teves cylinder has a round boss at the rear whare it goes rather than oblong shape of the Girling type.
