AC DC tig welder
Hello I'm after a Tig welder so I can learn to weld aluminium doesn't need to be anything to fancy as its only for me to use every now and
then second hand or new I'm not fussed. Obviously I don't want to pay to much as won't get much use however for the right thing
I'll pay good money.
Can anyone recommend me a welder to buy or even have one for sale?
Thanks
Less weight more speed, more power more speed
If in doubt, give it a clout

From what ive read this is about the best you can get for a starter AC set up.

Unless you go for a cheapo chinese job you could spend 1/3rd that but chances of it breaking and working as you well as hope might not be up to
expectations.

Have you considered gas welding Instead? A lot cheaper than a decent AC/DC tig.

I bought an R Tech 161, great welder, great company, great customer service/
Buy a cheapo, chances are it won't work too well, you'll convince yourself its your technique and give up, ally welding is tricky enough,
decent kit gives you a fighting chance of mastering it.

Gas welding setups are hard, aren't they? I learned to gas weld as a student but thought it was acetylene only and that means impossible for DIY
due to the storage requirements. Gas seemed an awful lot easier and prettier than TIG when I learned but that was a decade ago!
