The mythical oyster or other beading tool
Hi all.
I have a couple of ally pipes I need to put a bead on and was wondering if anyone had one of the mythical oyster tools or a n other beading tool which
they wish to flog or lend out in return for some beer tokens?
Cheers
Steve

Cheers Mike. I'd been searching for oyster tool rather than oyster pliers! I know they no longer exist at b and q anymore hence the mythical
label

This sort of thing will work fine if you don't want to spend a fortune on a dedicated tool, and might make use of some worn out mole grips
you've already got.

I also was looking for Oyster "tool" and failed so made one out of a cheap set of waterpump pliers.

Try one of these, the guy makes them himself. I bought one for doing all the ali cooling pipes. I went a bit mental on some heavier gauge ali tube ,
my fault, and wrecked. It worked for what i needed it for, must have done 20-25 beads easy enough.

Cheers for the info chaps. I had started to root through my drawer of semi scrap tools to see what I could cobble together. It's only 2 beads I
need doing.

I have a pair of the oyster pliers and they are naf. Your welcome to them but I won't get near the post office for a week or two. They have the
groove filed already.
I made my self somthing much stronger to do steel pipes.

I have done dozens of beading with Oyster pliers and found they do a good, if tedious job.
As said, they need grooving to work properly.
