Why bother?

You can get through with 40's ok

I got through with 45's

I tuned mine myself following Dave Andrews instructions:

http://hometown.aol.com/dvandrews/webers.htm

I only had to make very minor adjustments to the idle mixture at the MOT to pass - the same test as SVA

Cheers Mark

why bother?

the reason is the 40's need a linkage kit and a service and i'm pretty skint after buying that thing with a cosworth badge on the back at xmas

just in need of something to get me by for a while

Have you fitted a return pipe? I had the same with my 2.0 using the mechanical pump. I fitted the swirl pot and return from the donor to cure it.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

standard pinto carb setup is a line from the tank to the mechanical fuel pump, from there to the vapour seperator, and then one pipe to the carbs and another to return fuel to the tank. without a vapour seperator and return, you run the risk of forcing too much fuel into the carb, though many people will say they have done that with no probs - my engine is runnign rich, probably due to the lack of a return.
