Vauxhall ignition

Has anyone got, or know where I can get hold of the ignition system off an early 8v vauxhall. I need the coil, ignition module, dizzy with the vacume advance on the side and the wires off the loom with the correct plugs on. It must be all off the same car though. I've changed my engine to a 2lt 16v redtop, and this is the last thing i've got to do to get it on the road, but i'm pulling my hair out trying to find anything. there seems to be no old vauxhalls in my neck of the woods. Any help would be gratefully recieved.

you could try on migweb. I got lucky with a dizzy in a scrappy, but have since bought a full dta ecu and throttle body kit! Afraid someone already has dibs on the dizzy i still have..

there are second hand alpha 2d systems around for under a couple of hundred quid, it's just finding them..

Ned.

I've actually got all the parts I need, but the coil and ignition module are off one vauxhall and the dizzy (i've got 2) is off another and all though the wires and plugs all fit I get no spark. I went to my local vauxhall dealer and they told me that unless its all off the same car its not compatible because they made that many different systems all slightly different. I reckon they do it just to be a pain in the arse!

Darren, thats rubbish - as long as it is all Bosch stuff. When I ran my XE on an 8v dizzy (which itself was built from two dizzys, because I couldn't find a complete one with the right drive), the coil and amplifier actually came off a VW Polo! All the dizzy is is an electronic signal for the amplifier to 'work' the coil, and pretty much all of the Bosch stuff will work.

Dont just build it.....make it!

Any ideas why my set up won't work then?

I know all the parts work seperatly because I've had them tested. But when I wire it all up I can't get a spark.

How were all the separate parts tested?

Is it wired correctly?
