sierra power steering rack
well, having asked the question a while back, we're still without a fitting rack, so i thought i'd ask again.
it's for my dad's '89 2.0 pinto ghia. it's started catching as it's turned through it's travel, so wants
replacing.
from experience, i can say that a 4x4 pas rack won't fit, as it bolts to the back of the subframe, but this one wants to bolt to the front. the
fixing centres are 398mm, and it has the pear shaped integral reservoir on the pump.
ideally, we're looking for the full system, but will take just a rack, and ideally within an hours drive from leeds, but if it's right,
couriering's not a problem.
someone must have broken something with power steering on not so long ago, or be just about to take a power rack to the tip.
help us find a rack, before i end up with another donor

Tom, I think they are probably in short supply - I got over £30 for mine when I sold it on eBay top priced part! Must be someone scrapping one -
I'd be amazed if Joel hasn't got one.

he had, but it was from a 4x4, hence me being able to categorically say, it will most definitely not fit.
the scrappers want £52 rack only delivered
was yours power andy?

Mine was power steering, but as I already have an Escort rack I didn't need it at all and sold it complete with pump to someone who wanted to
convert his to power

hang on, you're building round a dohc aren't you? if so it would have been wrong any way.................. assuming it had the reservoir
on the inner wing.
