Chassis Stands
Hi All
I'm looking for a pair of chassis stands for my new car.
Westfield
and Demon Thieves do them but they're a bit
pricey!
Anybody on here making them?

Tressle tables from B7Q. Mine were £12 each!

Buy some box section and make some, should be easy enough.

How far do you think you could build a locost on B&Q workmates ?

erm simplest way to do it two £10 workmates from any DIY place..
will at least get you as far as a rolling chassis
with diff and brakes on
once thats done you can drop it on the floor

Got my tiger to a rolling chassis on cheap workmates then dropped it to the ground.

Built mine to rolling chassis on a pair of folding trestles , put the wheels on and then lifted car to floor . Wormates would be just as good.

I want to be able to keep the whole car on the stands to be able to work on it - total weight around 400kg maximum.
I'm not sure if trestles from B&Q would be up to it?

The B&Q plastic ones I have are 455Kg per pair.
Mine were fine right up until the point I dropped the chassis on one of them whilst trying to rotate it on my own! 
Doh!

Workmates are they way to go. They hold more wieght that u think.
Failing that weld up some 2 inch box. Im sure that will hold it.

machine mart do cheap metal ones for about £30 a pair that hold 500kg

B&Q - plastic - 450 kg maximum loading per pair - special offer - £11.50!
I'll use them to get the car on minus engine but I'm not so comfortable with the engine in although it's quite light.
