Vulcan Maxiflow 1 Pinto Head

A long shot but thought it was worth asking before I buy a new one!

Cheers

Can you give me a bit more info first?

What have you have done? Have you had it dyno'd?

150 BHP at the wheels - 2 different dynos confirm this.

equates to between 180 and 200 BHP at the flywheel depending on your view of transmission losses.

Engine spec (all done by my local wizard) but I built it. 2.0 by the way not 2.1

Lightened flywheel.
Balanced crank, rods, f'wheel and clutch
decked block so block is level with top of pistons
gas flowed head (skimmed)
modded valves
Fr33 cam
twin 45's
Aldon vacuumless dizzy with ignitor

it ticks over nicely and pulls really well from low revs andgoes all the way up to 7500 rpm (in very short bursts)

Is this the kind of thing you are after?

Cheers

Mark

Don't you just hate it when someone throws a spanner in works.

You make up your mind what your doing and then someone gives you yet another option...

I wouldn't knock Vulcan as they clearly have a solid reputation and have a good idea of what they are about.

However they are pretty poor in terms of BHP per £ spent. My motor, admttedly I assembled it myself, cost less than a grand including carbs, cam machining etc.

So if you want an off the shelf power boost and are not too bothered how much it costs, buy a Vulcan, if you want more power for less money.......

well you know the answer now

Cheers

Yeah but an extra head will upset my power-to-weight ratio!
