Help - freebie wanted

Well I know this is a long shot, but a mate at work is building a grasser on the cheap - as you do. He's waiting for one of the local scrappers to provide a Vaux red top 16v to go in it.
Now the question is, does anyone have an old damaged head for one of these that we could use as a former to build the manifolds from.
Poss anywhere in the country as I may be able to use contacts for uplifting.

Be great if there was one.

Cheers

Cant you just buy the inlet and exhaust gaskets to use as a pattern or are they not one piece things on those engines?

Yes, probably could, but just thought it'd be more acurate using the existing stud holes for the flat plate section as guides to ensure no lateral movement. Then have gasket outline drawn on to that plate and grind out plate and ports to that outline whilst clamped together. Should ensure an almost seemless joint between them all. Also just using the gasket and knowing our luck, there would be something that would protrude so that our plate would not sit flat.

shame, i chucked one in a skip a few months back. doesnt help i know, in fact it probably makes you feel to hear that!

using a different head might not be the best of options anyway as there may be slight differences in the casting etc.
