I cut mine from a lorry mudflap from a local motor factors specialising in commercial vehicles:

I looked at the rally type from Halfords (a bit expensive) and car mats (too flexible) and this seems to do the job.

You could have my leftovers for a couple of beer tokens to cover postage

Pete at Yorkshire rally Spares (NTDWM) sells the rallytype stuff by the meter it is a bit softer than the Sparco stuff and works out a fair bit cheaper. We have used 4 meters of this across a variety of kits and it looks the biz and works well.

Any agricultural engineering place workshop will have rolls of the stuff in varying thickness's for patching belts etc, dead cheap too.

rubber sheet

an option for you is offset printing rubber blanket (yes , blanket is it's real name). This is used by all offset printers and when damaged even a ding as small as a pinhole it is thrown away. Talk to your local printer nicely and they will probably give it to you if they have any to dispose of, It is made of very high quality rubber layers with a synthetic rot proof canvas back. much thinner, stronger and lighter than truck mud flap.

Locost method.

Get the jigsaw out and cut some from an old tyre, like the front guards on the Vanwall car

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Big thanks to emsfactory for sending me his flaps. They fit fine and are now on the car.
This will save my face from S**t and save my rear arches on track days.

Beer tokens in the post.
Top man.
