Cool, but I'm surprised they did since you've use Universal, Canal etc signatures which are copyright. Thought they were really an*l about that sort of thing?

It's the reason I use www.archive.org for video hosting instead.

Well...I've never been drag racing and quite honetly after watching that I think I'd rather sit in the garden and watch the grass grow...Each to their own I guess...

I'd recommend going to a "proper" drag meeting.

Two cars, 4000bhp each. 4.5 sec 1/4.

Awesome, ground shaking and deafening.

Hoping to go a gain this year - last time was 18 years ago!!!

Hm...
Don't take this as a criticism at all, but is that a good time for a bec? (14.x seconds sqm).

I was expecting less given the power/weight, rwd, sequential box etc.

You didn't watch it all then, or take particular notice 12.7sqm

You're quite correct, I didn't

What was the terminal for that one?

More like what I hoped/expected

Will agree that once you have seen proper drag racing with top fuel cars, it makes seeing F1 cars pretty tame.

Im sure they are closer to 8000bhp these days, there was a post ages ago with a few facts and figures about top fuel cars and its pretty amazing. Basically a controlled explosion directed through a gearbox.

The low budgetness of it all means its a lot more personal, you can wander through the pits watching them rebuilding the engines chatting to the team owners who are really enthusiatic and love it for the sport not the money.

Although i do love F1, they are amazing machines, for the sheer noise and power you cant beat top fuel. After the noise has died down after the run, you can hear loads of car alarms going off in the distance.

Definately horses for courses, as you see very different people there from F1, but im a big fan of both.

Very well summarised there!!!

I love visiting santa pod, but not too often so it's still a shock every time!

Yep, top cars are around 8000hp in 900 kg now.

Watched Kim Reymond set the UK record 3 years ago at 316mph terminal and 4.something (think it was 4.16 secs) ET.................................awesome!!

100mph in 4.5 metres says it all really!!!
