R1 CDi (Carb version) wanted
Hi All
I'm looking for a CDi (ECU) for an R1 (non-injected).
I've been sort of let down by Emerald, as they were supposed to upgrade the sofware on my ECU to run on the R1 crank trigger wheel, when I sent
it back to them for the injection upgrade. Well, they assured me they had but when I powered it up and plugged it into my laptop last night, surprise
surprise, there is no option for the Yamaha crank wheel!
So, with my first event 3 weeks away, I'm thinking of fitting the standard ECU to get me running (I was planning on running on the carbs at
first then fitting the TB's later in the season). I'm a bit pi**ed off as I've built the loom to fit the Emerald ECU - what I think
I'll do is try and get hold of a spare socket from an Emerald ECU (this is also a K Series fitting) and wire some trailing leads from this into
an R1 CDi.
So, if anybody's got a spare R1 CDi / ECU they want to sell please let me know.
Regards
Wyn

R1 CDi
Hi
I have a spare one, it's from a 5jj. I was going to keep it as a spare for my car. If you need it, just let me know.

Thanks Guys
I'm sure Emerald will, eventually, come up trumps - it'sjust the clock is ticking and they are not very good at returning phone calls -
not a criticism just a part of dealing with a small successful business!
I'm not sure if the injected (5JJ?) version would work on carbs although I don't see why not - I'm only asking it to provide a
spark!
Brian - do you want to U2U me with a price?
Regards
Wyn

The 5JJ is the last two years ('00 & '01) of carby power! It's different to the 4XV cdi, but if you have a wiring diagram and a
couple of hours I'm sure you could get it working....
Spin 'er off Well...
