Heat Shield

Hi guys,

I need some heat shield plate - and don't want to pay the earth.

It's to protect my starter motor and engine mount rubber - I'm trying to deflect the heat away - wish I had a pic to show you.

Or would I have better luck in a scrappy?

Cheers,

Murray

Get a scrap piece of stainless and make one. Give it a polish and it should work OK. Failing that a lot of the latest insulation products used for stereo installations in cars are also good heat insulators. Check with an installation centre for some scraps maybe.

I have some non-adhesive 0.2mm corrugated ally heatshield, appx 600mm sq.
Deceptively stiff due to the corrugations in all directions, but usefully maleable. I can drop off at Intier Automotive in Tachbrook Park, Warwick, or you can collect from Redditch (weekdays for both)

I also have some s/a ally heatshield on a roll ('kin loads actually) I can cut you off a metre or so. Same arrangement as before.

Kissy,

You're a legend

I work in Southam - but can drive to meet you. I don't know how far 'Redditch' is from me?

I'm available all week - and would probably take both options if that's ok. Just let me know how many beer tokens you require
