WANTED: vinyl for boot cover

As described: I have decided to remake my boot cover in plywood and cover it with vinyl... anyone got a spare bit of vinyl in black or darkish blue that I could liberate for a few beer tokens?

Allowing for a bit of extra to fold over the edges, etc. I need a minimum of about 120cm x 55cm

Cheers!

Why not use a piece of Lightly embossed Black Acrilic sheet,
I got an offcut enough to do 3 boot lids for a tenner. I reinforced it underneath with Alu strips.

Where - or what type of place - did you get it from, Steve?

I asked a fabricator I know and he suggested the place, Gilbert Curry in Bayton Road Ind. Estate Coventry.
They sell allsorts of PVC and Polycarbonate sheeting and section. Very helpful.
They said the stuff was UV ok.
Some stuff apparently dies in sunlight.
They do car windows etc aswell.

just watch out what type u get, i did this and 'forgot' about the heat in the summer and when i left the car out in the sun the nice fit covers turned into mini spoilers they expanded so much.

Hence why i am sorting some Carbon fibre sheet to replace it.

Sorry about my spelling, im an engineer and only work in numbers.

I decided to stick with the ply+vinyl idea as I have some plywood in the garage.

Anyone got any vinyl, or shall I call Woolies tomorrow?

Check out your local fabric suppliers. Got mine from a place called The Fabric Warehouse in Sawston near Cambridge . There may be a local branch near you?
